Livin' a Dream !!!!
I'm from the USA, my family lived all over this country, perhaps leading to my leaving school to travel with many bands. I've been in music all my life, including stints playing drums (from age 5), accordion (from age 8), and bass (from age 12), as well as guitar. I also spent time teaching as well as repairing and building guitars (with both John Buscarino, and briefly with Bob Benedetto). I'm also a recording engineer and producer, with many years of studio experience.
I was born into a musical family in Coldwater, Michigan. I have played music all of my life, playing everything from Rock to Jazz to Blues. I have traveled the US, Canada and Japan, playing 200+ night s a year. In 1984 I made my way to Florida, joining The Bobby Friss Band. By 1999 I had started playing with Damn the Torpedoes, which is where I met Greg. A short time later, The Greg Billings Band formed and I became their drummer. In addition to playing drums, I am a songwriter and a guitar teacher. I love all sports, especially golf and Frisbee golf and I love Budweiser!!!
I was raised in Hampton, VA. I started playing the piano at age 6, taught by my father, Dr. William Stoney. Played drums in the Peninsula Youth Symphony Orchestra at age 15. Began playing keyboards player when I joined The Denim Band in Hampton, VA. Moved to Tampa, and toured the rock circuit in Florida with the band Eclipse. Played the Dallas Bull for about a year before joining the Johnny G. Lyons Band. Later joined the band Webbed Feet, which became a popular Florida jam band. Moved to Nashville in 1996 and joined The Warren Brothers band and was signed to a writing/publishing deal with Sony ATV Tree. Toured with The Warren Brothers for 7 years and wrote She Wants to Rock, which was our third single released from the album Beautiful Day in the Cold Cruel World, which went to No. 28 on the billboard charts. Other song writing credits include It Ain’t Me , Quarter to Three , and The Jealous One (featured in motion picture The Punisher). Moved back to Tampa to be with my family and raise my daughter in 2003. Began performing solo piano shows throughout the Bay area before joining my friends in the Greg Billings Band in 2004, and have been rockin’ ever since. I also perform my solo gig at Ocean Prime Supper Club in Tampa.
